Frequently asked
What calendars does Cesium Events support?
All three of the big ones, with direct first-party integrations: Apple Calendar (via macOS's native EventKit), Google Calendar (OAuth), and Microsoft 365 / Outlook (OAuth). Anything Apple Calendar already syncs (iCloud, Exchange, CalDAV) comes along for free. You can connect any combination of accounts.
How do the Google and Microsoft integrations work?
OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. The app opens your browser, you sign in with Google or Microsoft, you approve the requested permission. Scopes are read-only: calendar.readonly for Google and Calendars.Read for Microsoft. Cesium Events can read your events but cannot create, edit, or delete anything. Tokens live in your Mac's Keychain and never leave the device.
Will it detect Zoom, Teams, or Meet links in my events?
Yes. The notification card shows a Join button when Cesium Events finds a meeting URL in the event location or description. It recognizes 20+ platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, GoTo, BlueJeans, Whereby, Jitsi, Discord, and more) and falls back to any URL it can parse.
Can I connect multiple accounts?
Yes. Multiple Google accounts, a personal and a work Outlook, your iCloud calendar all coexist. Each keeps its own permissions and its own list of enabled calendars.
Does Cesium Events work offline?
Apple Calendar works fully offline. Google and Outlook accounts sync over the internet (every five minutes by default; configurable). Without a connection, the most recently synced events still display and notify.
What macOS version do I need?
macOS 14.6 (Sonoma) or later. Both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs are supported.
How does the trial and pricing work?

When the trial expires, full-screen notifications stop firing and the menu-bar dropdown replaces your agenda with a "Trial Expired" card explaining that upcoming events and pre-meeting notifications are paused until you purchase. The card has two buttons: one to purchase Cesium Events through the Mac App Store, and one to restore a previous purchase. A "Trial Expired" banner also appears in Settings. Cesium Events is a one-time purchase. No subscription, ever. Family Sharing is supported.
